Leslie Larson received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. Early career experience includes inpatient treatment on the child and adolescent unit of Timberlawn Mental Health System in Dallas, Texas; intensive outpatient treatment of children and adolescents through Dallas MHMR; residential substance abuse treatment for adult women through Nexus Recovery, Dallas, Texas; and casework and investigations of child abuse and neglect through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
From a variety of clinical settings to the gamut of treatment modalities, Leslie has more than 20 years in the mental health field. She is experienced in family-, couples’-, group- and individual counseling. Her therapeutic approach combines a number of theories and styles, including humanistic, cognitive, family systems, interpersonal, existential and Ericksonion. She is an expert in relationship issues ---- particularly partner abuse. Leslie is also certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a treatment for trauma and abuse recovery.
Leslie is a member of the EMDR International Association and the Central Texas Regional Chapter of EMDRIA.
