LPC Supervision Austin, TX
I am approved by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors to provide supervision to LPC interns who acquire a temporary license and wish to work toward their required experience. LPC interns must provide their own liability insurance and secure an intern site.
The LPC Supervision monthly fee covers
- Individual weekly supervision sessions
- Group supervision, when feasible
- Feedback and guidance on counseling techniques, application of theories, differential diagnosis, and ethics
- Review of case notes and other documentation and/or recorded client sessions, as feasible and appropriate.
- Phone or email consultation for emergency or time sensitive situations or events
- If desired, mentoring for professional development, including starting and maintaining a private practice
As a clinician, I use a collaborative, client-centered and strengths-based approach, which I also use and promote in supervision. The work we do together will in large part be an exploration and development of your own individual therapeutic “style”, which is independent of any particular theoretical orientation to which you may ascribe. I view a clinician’s style as the way in which he or she builds and maintains client relationships: I am less interested in therapeutic techniques than I am in the use of self and one’s presence in session. I am less interested in diagnosis than in exploring the purpose or usefulness of a client’s thoughts, feelings and behaviors. While the DSM-IV-TR has its uses, it is not my Bible and mine gathers quite a bit of dust.
If you believe we could be a good fit, the first step would be for us to schedule a face-to-face meeting. I do not charge for this meeting. If we both agree that we would like to work together, I would need a copy of your resume` or curriculum vita and three professional references. At least two of these references would need to be from a current or recent employer (paid or unpaid employment is OK) or internship supervisor in the counseling, mental health or a related field. You would need to sign and abide by my Agreement for Supervision for Clinical Licensure.
My fee for supervision is $250 per month, which I believe you will find is quite competitive. Please explore my website to learn more about my experience and philosophy.
Good Luck on your journey . . .
